Here is a video of my thoughts around a reading I came across earlier this year: Literature Circles and Their Improvement of Comprehension by Laura Coccia.
Warning: It is 30 minutes
It outlines the literature review for her research and much of the key thinking and research that has already gone into Literature Circles. A particular focus is how literature circles the Sociocultural History Theory for education, where student experience and language impacts their learning, and how this can be used to enhance comprehension with the use of literature circles.
What is a teacher in the 21st Century? The world we inhabit is changing at a startling rate. As educators, we are trying to develop learners who are capable of being adaptive and competitive contributors. This applies to their future as employees and employers, citizens and family members. This is my record of how I will develop my teaching through inquiry to meet these changes.
